The Transformation from Translucent into Transparent Rare Earth Ions Doped Oxyfluoride Glass‐Ceramics with Enhanced Luminescence

چکیده

It is known that the optical transparency of an oxide glass decreases with increase in size and fraction crystals during heat-treatment. Here, authors report opposite scenario, where a translucent Er3+−Yb3+ doped oxyfluoride precursor glass-ceramic (P-GC) becomes transparent increasing crystal crystallinity. Specifically, heat-treated P-GC samples, observe growth existing Ba2LaF7 particularly formation small spherical greatly enhanced light transmittance. To reveal origin this anomalous phenomenon, perform detailed morphology structure analyses on both samples molecular dynamics simulations glass. The results show composition residual phase altered (e.g., depletion La3+) way differences refractive index between matrix are reduced. As consequence, scattering suppressed, hence, derived transparent. In addition, proper heat-treatment can also enhance luminescence studied system.

Near-infrared luminescence of rare earth ions in oxyfluoride lead borate glasses and transparent glass-ceramic materials

Oxyfluoride lead borate glasses singly doped with Nd3+ and Er3+ ions have been studied before and after thermal treatment. The orthorhombic PbF2 crystallites are formed during thermal treatment, which was evidenced by X-ray diffraction analysis. Near-infrared luminescence spectra at 1.06 μm and 1.53 μm have been registered for samples before and after annealing, which correspond to the main F3/...

Luminescence Properties of Oxyfluoride Glass and Glass Ceramic Doped with Y3 + Ions

Oxyfluoride glass ceramics containing CaF2nano-crystals doped with Y3+ ions were prepared by one-step crystallization of SiO2- Al2O3- CaO- CaF2 glasses at different temperatures. X- ray diffraction (XRD) results have revealed that CaF2 was the only precipitated crystalline phase in glass ceramic samples. According to the XRD results, a glass ceramic was selected as the best sample in order to ...

Upconversion luminescence in Er-doped germanate-oxyfluoride and tellurium-germanate-oxyfluoride transparent glass-ceramics

Upconversion luminescence has been studied for Er in a germanate-oxyfluoride and a tellurium-germanate-oxyfluoride transparent glass-ceramic using 800 nm excitation. Significantly increased upconversion luminescence was observed from transparent glass-ceramics compared with that from their corresponding as-prepared glasses. In addition to a strong green emission centered at 545 nm from S3/2 sta...

GeS2–In2S3–CsI Chalcogenide Glasses Doped with Rare Earth Ions for Near- and Mid-IR Luminescence

Chalcogenide glass has been considered as a promising host for the potential laser gain and amplifier media operating in near- and mid-IR spectral region. In this work, the IR luminescence spectra of rare earth ions (Tm3+, Er3+, and Dy3+) doped 65GeS2-25In2S3-10CsI chalcogenide glasses were measured under the excitation of an 808 nm laser diode. To the best of our knowledge, it firstly provides...
